SCULPTRA – THE SECRET TO NATURAL SKIN REJUVENATION
In the world of aesthetic medicine, where more and more individuals desire subtle yet effective results, Sculptra is becoming increasingly popular – a biostimulator that not only fills but also restores. Although it has been on the market for more than a decade, it has been back in the spotlight in recent years. Why? Because it represents a modern approach to rejuvenation – without excessive puffiness, without an artificial appearance, and with long-lasting effects.
WHAT IS SCULPTRA AND HOW DOES IT WORK?
Sculptra is an injectable biostimulator whose main active ingredient is L-polylactic acid. This substance has long been known in medicine as safe, biodegradable, and biocompatible. In aesthetic medicine, we use it to stimulate the formation of type 1 collagen, which is a key component of firm, taut, and youthful skin. Unlike hyaluronic fillers, which merely fill wrinkles with volume, Sculptra works deep down by stimulating the skin’s own cells to restore lost structure. The effect is not immediate, but rather gradual, developing over several weeks after injection. It is precisely this gradualness that is a great advantage for many. The results develop naturally, without drastic overnight changes.

WHO IS SCULPTRA SUITABLE FOR?
Collagen is a protein that accounts for as much as 70% of the dry mass of the skin. It ensures firmness, elasticity, and structure. Unfortunately, the body produces less and less collagen as we age. After the age of 25, its production decreases by approximately 1–1.5% per year. After the age of 45, we can lose up to 25% of collagen, which manifests itself as a loss of facial volume, loose and sagging skin, more pronounced wrinkles, and a tired appearance.
With its ability to stimulate collagen, Sculptra offers an effective solution that does not hide aging, but restores what has been lost. It is most commonly used by people between the ages of 35 and 60, but it is also suitable for younger people who want to preventively slow down the signs of aging. Due to the thin skin around the eyes and mouth, we do not recommend its use in these areas.
TREATMENT PROCEDURE AND RECOMMENDED AFTER TREATMENT
The Sculptra procedure is quick and relatively painless, as it is not performed with a needle, but with a cannula, which has a blunt tip and travels through the tissue without piercing it. It takes about 30-45 minutes.
A local anesthetic is added to the Sculptra solution for greater comfort. Sculptra is applied in the form of a liquid suspension with tiny microparticles, which the doctor injects into selected areas of the face.
The following guidelines are recommended after treatment:
- For the first 24 hours after treatment, it is recommended to cool the face to reduce swelling.
- It is necessary to massage the face according to the 5-5-5 rule (five minutes, five times a day, five days).
- Avoid intense exercise for the first 24-48 hours.Makeup can be applied a few hours after treatment.
Possible side effects
Possible side effects are mild in nature, namely redness, swelling, or bruising, which usually subside within a few days. When following the 5-5-5 massage technique, the risk of complications such as lumps is extremely low.
Sculptra should not be used in individuals who are hypersensitive to any ingredient in the product or who are prone to keloids or hypertrophic scars.
HOW QUICLY ARE THE RESULTS VISIBLE – AND HOW LONG DO THEY LAST?
One of the biggest advantages of Sculptra is the durability of the results. Although the effect is not immediate (as with classic fillers), the results are much more lasting. The first visible signs appear after about 4-6 weeks, with the full effect usually appearing after 2-3 months and lasting up to 2 years.
One treatment is often sufficient for a satisfactory effect.
After 2 months, we check the patient’s condition and satisfaction. If they want an even greater lift, we decide on an additional treatment. After the age of 40, an additional renewal treatment is recommended, and after the age of 50, two additional treatments.
Studies show that Sculptra can increase collagen production by more than 60%, which means an improvement in skin quality, elasticity, structure, radiance, and indirectly, a slight increase in volume, but slightly less than with Radiesse.

SCULPTRA IN COMPARISON WITH OTHER MATERIALS
You may be wondering why you should choose Sculptra treatment over classic fillers or facelifts. Here are some key differences.

Sculptra is therefore an excellent choice for those who want non-invasive therapy and long-lasting rejuvenation with natural results without adding volume.
